 LIST OF VOLUNTEER NEEDS

FUNDRAISING AND PROMOTION

Assist in creative ways to raise money to support NAMI’S  established educational programs and to help in present fund raising activities.

LEGISLATION  

Assist in maintaining awareness of potential legislation (or other governmental action) which would benefit from NAMI  involvement.  Effort should be focused on worthwhile issues and directing members to find the appropriate legislator.

 

MEMBERSHIP

Assist with the task of recruiting new members.  Help is  needed for finding new and innovative methods to increase  NAMI membership.

NEWSLETTER

Assist with publication, articles mailing and distribution of NAMI newsletter,  The newsletter is published every other month and is distributed to NAMI members and the community.

 

PROGRAMS

Assist in planning programs and scheduling speakers for Monthly Program Meetings. Monthly meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at Stepping Stones at 706 North Main Street. Rockford, IL

PHONE TREE

Assist in calling and/or emailing members reminding/informing them of Monthly Program events.

REFRESHMENTS

Assist in seeing that refreshments will be served at the monthly Program Meetings and at Special Events.   Program Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of the month at Stepping Stones, 706 N. Main, Rockford, Il.

SPECIAL EVENTS:  Assist with a variety of activities during annual National Mental Illness Awareness Week which takes place in October.  Assist with the planning and implementation of “Get To Know NAMI” which takes place  every year in March.
