What is a WRAP?  WRAP stands for Wellness/Recovery Action Plan and it is about empowering you to manage your own mental health.  By taking note of the things you need to do every day to stay well, the symptoms you notice when you get sick, and planning to cope with different levels of distress, you can reduce the severity of your own illness and regain control over your life.  No one else can do your WRAP for you.

How can you get a WRAP?  There is a publication available for free from SAMHSA to help you write your own WRAP.  You can order it over the phone at (800) 789-2647 or view it online.  If you order it by phone, ask for Recovering Your Mental Health: Action Planning for Prevention and Recovery: A Self Help Guide SMA-3720.  Copies are free!

Need more help deciding what to put in your WRAP?  You can view an actual WRAP (with confidential information removed) here on our website!
