NAMIWalks 2014 ~  Changing Minds One Step at a Time

            Where: GRAND PARK, LOS ANGELES

                        227 N Spring St, Los Angeles

            Time:  Walk registration, 8:00 am; Stage Program, 9:15 am; 5k Walk 10:00 am

NAMIWalks is the largest annual mental health awareness and anti-stigma event in LA County.  It is the principal source of revenue and only annual fundraiser for the NAMI Glendale affiliate. The funds generated from this yearly event are used to provide for all the NAMI Glendale free programs including our support groups, education classes, awareness programs, and our outreach and advocacy work. NAMIWalks is also a day filled with friendship, compassion and fun! Next PEER-TO-PEER Class

Date: September 10th - November 19th

When: Wednesdays

Time: 6:00 pm - 8:00pm

Where: Glendale

Peer-to-Peer is a 10 week class designed for our loved ones’ who have been diagnosed with a mental illness and are in need of information, support and resources. The class is free of charge. Materials and light refreshments will be provided. Pre-registration is required. If you would like more information, check out the NAMI Glendale website and the Peer-to-Peer Flyer.

Next Family-to-Family Class

Pre-registration Required

Date: September 7th (the first Sunday after Labor Day) - November 23rd

When: Sundays

Time: 6:30 pm - 9:00pm

Where: Glendale

Family to Family is a free 12 week class that educates family members on many aspects of mental illness including medications, diagnoses, brain function, communication workshops and a lot more. You must be registered to enroll.

Next Basic Class

BASICS is a 6 week class for parents and caregivers of children and adolescents (18 and under) who have a diagnosis of a mental illness.

Everyone who has taken this class has discovered an amazing amount of information, resources and support. As with all NAMI classes, it is free of charge.
