  Welcome to NAMI Broward County 

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Broward County is an affiliate of NAMI Florida and the national NAMI network. We are dedicated to helping alleviate the suffering and combat the stigma that surrounds biologically based brain disorders. We offer family-led and peer-led education and support for individuals with mental illness and their relatives. Additionally, we offer community outreach workshops and presentations. NAMI Broward County has been serving the Broward community since 1984.

Our Mission: NAMI Broward County is dedicated to empowering persons affected by mental illness and their family members to achieve a better quality of life by providing them with mutual support, practical information, referral, advocacy and educational resources.

Family to Family Class Now Forming

Family to Family is a free, 12 week course for families, partners and friends of individuals with serious mental illness. The course dwells on the emotional responses families have to the trauma of mental illness.

The course will begin Wednesday, February 29th at 6:30pm at Broward General Hospital located at 1600 S. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316

Family Support Group in Spanish

NAMI is now offering a support group for families in Spanish.

The group will begin on March 14th, 7:00pm and will be every second Wednesday of each month at  Geo Care/SFSH 800 E. Cypress Drive, Pembroke Pines, FL 33025

NAMI Broward County (Alianza Nacional para Las Enfermedades Mentales) se complace en anunciar un nuevo Grupo de Apoyo para las Familias que cuidan o los miembros de la Familia que cuidan seres queridos afectados por una Enfermedad Mental.Este Grupo de Apoyo se ofrecerá en Español y se reunirá de 7 a 8 PM el segundo Miercoles de cada mes en el GeoCare,South Florida State Hospital, 800 East Cypress Drive,Pembroke Pines, FL.Este servicio es sin costo alguno y no es necesario hacer reservaciones.Para mayor información llamar al 954 739 1888 o escribir al correo electrónico NAMIBroward@gmail.com o mirar enel web ?NamiBrowardInc.org.La primera reunión será el  14 de Marzo.

NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group

Connection is a weekly recovery support group for people living with mental illness in which people learn from each others’ experiences, share coping strategies, and offer each other encouragement and understanding.
 

Every Monday 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.  at  Silver Impact 7155 West Oakland Park Blvd, Lauderhill, FL

Support groups can be very helpful, especially for those going through a crisis. There is no charge and you don't need a reservation to attend.
