NAMI PA, Main Line is a grassroots, nonprofit organization of persons with mental illness, their families and friends, dedicated to improving the quality of life of all those affected by mental illness through support, advocacy and education.

NAMI PA, MAIN LINE ACTIVITIES

Event:

6th Annual Greater Philadelphia NAMIWalk (in cooperation with other local NAMI affiliates)

Date: Saturday, May 18, registration begins at 8 a.m., rally begins at 9:30 a.m., Walk begins at 10 a.m.

Montgomery County Community College, 340 DeKalb Pike in Blue Bell, PA 19422

Event:

Brain Stimulation for the Treatment of Depression and Other Neuropsychiatric Illnesses , with Mahendra Bhati, M.D.

Date: Sunday, June 9, 2-4 p.m.
Place: Ardmore Presbyterian Church, 5 W. Montgomery Ave. in Ardmore
Note: Dr. Bhati will discuss the effectiveness of different kinds of non-invasive and invasive brain stimulation for treatment-resistant depression and other neuropsychiatric disorders.  Dr. Bhati is Associate Medical Director of the Department of Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic at the University of Pennsylvania, Attending Psychiatrist in the Mood Disorders Treatment Center, and Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry.  There will be ample time for audience questions and Dr. Bhati’s responses.  For more information, contact us at info@namipamainline.org or 267-251-6240.

Date: The first Monday of every month at 7 p.m.

These crisis lines provide access to staff who are specifically trained for dealing with mental health crises and may provide better help and reduced risk of arrest.  Someone is available 24/7 to assess the situation, arrange for an in-person evaluation, and/or make referrals as needed
