BringChange2Mind Walks with NAMI
NAMIWalks is proud to partner with BringChange2Mind.org, a not-for-profit
organization created by Glenn Close, Fountain House, Garen and Shari
Staglin of International Mental Health Research Organization (IMHRO)
and The Balanced Mind Foundation.
BringChange2Mind is forming NAMIWalks teams across the country, and a portion of the funds they raise will benefit their mission to combat the stigma associated with mental illness via a national communications campaign.

How to Form a BringChange2Mind NAMIWalk Team:
There are three easy steps:
- Find out if there is an upcoming 2012 NAMIWalk in a community near you!
Contact your local WALK office (click through on above link to get information for your community) and express your interest in forming a Bring Change 2Mind walk team. If a team exists, you simply join that team. If a team does not currently exist, you can request that a team be formed and volunteer to captain BC2M in your community. Unfortunately, not all chapters will participate.
- Once you have contacted the local office and they have agreed to set up a team, please let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org. All the information you need to start raising funds and awareness will be sent to you by NAMI and they are available to support your efforts.

BringChange2Mind.org (BC2M) is a not-for-profit organization created by Glenn Close, the Child and Adolescent Bipolar Foundation (CABF), Fountain House and Garen and Shari Staglin of IMHRO (International Mental Health Research Organization). A Public Service Announcement (PSA) campaign is the center piece of BC2M. This campaign focuses primarily on providing information to combat stigma and to offer people who have mental illness, and those who know them quick and easy access to information and support via their Web site.

- When I form or join a BC2M walk team for a NAMIWalk and raise funds, where does the money go?
The funds raised by BC2M NAMIWalk teams will be split 50/50. Fifty percent of the funds will go directly to the BC2M campaign, and 50 percent will go directly to the NAMI affiliate or state organization hosting the Walk.

- How can I form a BC2M NAMIWalk team?
BC2M NAMIWalk teams must be sanctioned by BC2M. If you are interested in forming a BC2M NAMIWalk team, contact BC2M via email@example.com.
- What do I do if there already is a BC2M NAMIWalk team for the NAMIWalk that is closest to me?
You go to the NAMIWalks Web site and follow the directions to join the BC2M NAMIWalk team and participate as a team member.
- If I am participating in a NAMIWalk as part of a BC2M NAMIWalk team and am asked by a local reporter -- or anyone else, including donors -- how should I identify myself?
Please say first that you are walking in the NAMIWalk to help support NAMI's work in your community -- and that as a member of the BC2M NAMIWalk team you also are supporting BC2M's work. As partners, NAMI and the BC2M campaign are fighting stigma everywhere. Together, they stand for hope and recovery.

You may receive additional information from your BCM2 NAMIWalk team captain. What's most important is to first register on the NAMIWalks Web site. - Whose logo or graphics should I use on anything that's produced for my local NAMIWalk or Walk team?
The NAMIWalks logos should be used on all printed materials promoting or advertizing the WALK, as per our guidelines. If in doubt as to usage, please contact your local NAMIWalks manager. The BC2M logo can only be used by the BC2M team or on items sold directly by BC2M. Other teams can continue-and are encouraged - to make their own designs for T-shirts, signs and other items. NAMIWalks are a celebration of grassroots creativity.
- If I am a team captain, can I put out a press release about my team speaking for NAMI and/or BC2M?
Official news releases about NAMIWalks have to come from the NAMIWalks manager and NAMI affiliate or state organization for each site. In addition, all press and media activity must be coordinated through the NAMIWalks manager.
