"Our religious communities are in the dark when it comes to understanding mental illness as a treatable illness," said Rev. Gregg-Schroeder. "For two years, I hid my condition from my faith community from the very real fear that I would lose my job." Rev. Gregg-Schroeder went on to describe what she calls "the gifts of the shadow," and the ways that her mental illness enabled her to discover opportunities for growth, change, and transformation. She also explored ways congregations can respond to persons with mental illness. NAMI is pleased to offer the full audio of Rev. Gregg-Shroeder’s presentation online.
