The NAMI Helpline is a toll-free information and referral service that provides emotional support, referrals to local organizations, and treatment information for thousands of callers who contact the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) each year. Call for information about mental illnesses including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder (manic-depressive illness), major depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, and anxiety disorders. Some other issues that NAMI addresses are the latest treatment and research breakthroughs, health insurance parity, employment opportunities, housing concerns, and behavioral managed care.
