NAMI Signature Programs offered by NAMI Rochester

NAMI Rochester offers several free education and support programs for individuals and families. Our education programs give families and individuals living with mental illness a place to access a strong network of education and support programs presented by trained teachers and facilitators; You will benefit from the unique wisdom of their own lived experience with mental illness.


A 12-week course for family members and loved ones of individuals who have a severe mental illness. The course is taught by trained family members and is free to participants.

NAMI Basics

For parents and other caregivers of children and adolescents living with mental health needs. The course meets once a week for six weeks.

NAMI Connection

A recovery support group for people living with mental illness. Participants learn from each other's experience and share coping strategies, encouragement, and understanding. Disponible en Español.

In Our Own Voice

A recovery education presentation given by trained persons living with mental illness who tell a part of their stories. This presentation can be given to any organization or group requesting it.

Parents and Teachers as Allies

A two-hour in-service program on mental health education for school professionals. It includes early warning signs and how to communicate with parents so children can be linked to needed services.

Provider Education Workshop

A training workshop intended for providers of mental health services. This workshop is provided by trained family members and is held once a week for five or ten weeks.
