Council Uses Technology to Reach Churches
On October 10th, during Mental Illness Awareness Week, theyear-old Council on Mental Illness of the National Catholic Partnership for Disability hosted its first "Webinar" about how parishes can support people with mental illness and their families.
Thomas P. Welch, M.D., a psychiatrist in private practice in Portland, Oregon, and chairman of the Interfaith Council on Mental Health in Portland, and Sister Sharon Collver, a chaplain at the Oregon State Hospital, offered practical advice during the hour-long seminar that was conducted over the Web and attended by people at 50 sites around the country.
Workshops Sought for 2008 NAMI Convention
The NAMI 2008 Annual Convention Committee invites you to submit a workshop or poster presentation proposal for our upcoming convention, scheduled for June 13 - 16 at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando.
Workshops, which are 75 minutes in length, and posters will be presented on Sunday, June 15th and Monday, June 16th.
Visit the convention Web site to submit your proposal on-line or to download the proposal form. If you would like a workshop proposal form mailed to you, please e-mail your postal address to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Proposals are due in to the NAMI Convention Department by December 14th.
