![]() National Alliance on Mental Illness page printed from NAMI West Houston NAMI West Houston Support GroupsCoping with mental illness can be confusing and frustrating for both the family and individuals confronted with a diagnosis. Our support groups in West Houston and Katy offer much-needed emotional support, but they are also a source of practical advice on issues such as insurance benefits, Social Security and Medicaid, finding a lawyer or accessing treatment and housing. Our facilitators are not professionals; they are family members and mental health consumers just like you. Whatever challenges you are facing, you are likely to find in our support groups someone who has "been there, done that" and has experience to share. Meetings are open to the public. We suggest you call to verify time and place, as schedules may change, especially around holidays.
