Eager Eagles & Dominick's Italian Restaurant Team Up
Auggy Donlon, Team Captain Eager Eagles
Eager Eagles’ Captain Auggy Donlon had a unique fundraising idea for her team. She worked with Dominick’s Italian Restaurant (477 N. Oxnard Blvd., Oxnard). The evening of April 10th, Dominick’s donated a portion of all proceeds from sales to NAMI supporters to
Auggy works for First American Title Company, a sponsor of this team as well as a Corporate Sponsor of this Walk. Auggy is also a member of the Ventura County Leadership Academy Class XI (VCLA). This VCLA class has chosen the 2006 Ventura County NAMI Walk as their class project. They have been hard at work planning and promoting this event.
Here is Auggy's description of her team: “The Eager Eagles Team consists of some pretty terrific ladies and my brother, Robert. Rob just started to tell some folks how great NAMI is and asked for support from his friends and other people in the community. The ladies are some of my best friends and most of us work together in an environment that is "team" oriented. We always have a great time together even when working on a project. I can always count on them to work hard while having a great time! Several months ago, I was learning about NAMI from my VCLA Classmate, Joyce Wilde, and I passed on the info to my friends. The ladies took an immediate interest. When it was announced that I was forming a team for the walk, I didn't even have to ask them twice, they all eagerly jumped on board to contribute in anyway they can for a great cause!”
Auggy's group has also taken on the job of registration and the Children's area for Walk Day.
What a wonderful example of community and business involvement for a worthy cause.
