NAMI Ventura County (National Alliance on Mental Illness) is an organization of family members and people living with a mental illness. Our mission is to provide Education, Support and Advocacy for everyone affected by these brain disorders.

Nancy Swanson currently has a private practice and provides Clinical Outreach and Program Development for La Ventana Treatment Programs in Ventura. She has extensive experience working in the field of co-occurring disorders.
She has been the Clinical Director for La Ventana's Substance Use and Co-occurring Disorder Program, CAST Recovery Services in Santa Monica and the Phoenix House Adolescent Program in Los Angeles. In her private practice, Nancy specializes in working with families in crisis, offering help and hope during times of trauma, grief and loss, and when families are devastated by addiction, eating disorders, and mental illness.
A Family Support Group is held at this location prior to the General Meeting,
from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm
All General Meetings are Free and Open to the Public
NAMI General Meetings are open to anyone interested in learning about mental illness. Speakers address a wide range of topics such as: research on schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, new medications, proven rehabilitation approaches, financial planning for families with a disabled member, early diagnosis and intervention, public and other community mental health services, disability benefits, etc.
NAMI General Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month.
