NIMH funding is critical for the advancement of mental illness research. Representatives Ed Markey (D-MA), Dave Reichert (R-WA), Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.), Chris Shays (R-CT), Chris Smith (R-NJ), and Henry Waxman (D-CA) are circulating a bipartisan "Dear Colleague" letter seeking congressional sign-ons for a letter to House Appropriations Chair David Obey (D-WI) and Ranking Member Jerry Lewis (R-CA) in support of a 6.7% increase in NIH funding for each of the next three years.
