AM's Story

Hi, I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2007, but i had experienced mood swings since i was a teen, the doctors diagnosed me with many mental illnesses like anxiety disorders , then when i had my early 20's the doctor diagnosed me with mayor depression. None of this specialist noted my manic episodes. In 2007 I visited one of the most recognized doctors and specialist in bipolar disorder "saw" my manic side....spending money unnecessary, hallucinations and many other manic behaviors....and with difficult I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. At first it was hard to accept because my mother have the same mental illness....During that time I had a lot of traumatic experiences, because I lost my job in 2009...and then was very hard for me living with the money that I received from unemployment.....but in september of 2010 i decided to visit a church, now two years later I knew it was the best thing I did, because I joined many support groups that help me to understand and accept my condition. Working with my spiritual side help me to understand my mental illness and be prepare to live my life as better as I can, changing my life point of view for Gods life point of view. Today I had my symptoms.....they are here....but I manage them different and helps me to heal my traumas.....this decision change my life, now Im going to be graduate on December 2012 as a Minister...to help other people with mental illness how to deal with their condition and heal their traumas too.
