Mental illness, an often isolating illness, affects one in four people. It affects persons of any age, race religion or socioeconomic status. It affects the entire family. Mental illnesses are biological brain disorders and can disrupt a person’s thinking, feelings, mood, ability to relate to others and daily functioning. Mental illnesses are treatable medical conditions. Thanks to research and medical advances in medications and treatment, recovery is possible. Many people feel isolated by mental illness due to the stigma and misinformation surrounding it. If your life has been touched by mental illness, you are not alone.

Mental Health Day on the Hill 2014 - Thursday, March 6
Please join us and make your voice heard at the annual rally at the State Capital in support of people living with mental Illnesses and their families. We will rally at the State Capital Rotunda and visit with our legislators. Our advocacy influenced historical legislation positively impacting the children's mental health system. We were able to save a number of important programs and mental health services. It is vital that we continue to educate legislators about the importance of funding mental health services for children and adults
A FREE BUS RIDE is available from Central Elementary School leaving at 7:00 AM SHARP. Call Mike at (507) 454-1046 or Helen Newell at (507) 494-0905 to reserve a seat.
