Representative Mindy Greiling (DFL-Roseville) has served in the Minnesota House of Representatives for thirteen years, focusing on educational issues. She is the lead Democrat on the Education Finance Committee. She has a B.A. from Gustavus Adolphus College and an M.A. from the University of Minnesota, both in education, and has been an elementary teacher in St. Paul Public Schools. She has also worked on research studies for the University of Minnesota and done consulting work.
Mindy has a rich volunteer history at both local and state levels. She got her political start through the League of Women Voters, including serving as their state action coordinator. She was a Girl Scout leader for nine years and then served two terms on her area Girl Scout Council board.
After her son developed schizophrenia, she added mental health issues to her agenda, and has received many awards for her work in this area. She currently serves on the national board of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI).
