Mental illness is a serious medical condition that often disrupts a personís thinking, feeling, ability to relate to others and daily functioning. Mental illness affects an estimated one in four American families and can have a profound effect on the individual, their family and the community.
Many people affected by mental illness do not know where to turn for information, support, help and hope. NAMI is a lifesaver for tens of thousands of individuals and families, virtually and in local communities across the country. Through clear information resources, free education and support group programs, advocacy initiatives, awareness events and personal connections with volunteer leaders in every state, NAMI works every day to save every life.
The 2012-13 "Monuments" TV PSA has been created to grab the attention of viewers and let them know that they are not alone in their fight.
The brand-new NAMI public service announcements are direct and effective with their message: You Are Not Alone In This Fight!
If you are a member of the media and would like a beta or master copy of the TV-PSA listed above, contact Katrina Gay at firstname.lastname@example.org.
NAMI is pleased to launch the 2012 NAMI "Monuments" TV PSA initiative.
As NAMI State Organization and NAMI Affiliate leaders, you can assist with the PSA initiative and help promote it in your community. For more tools and resources on PSAs and other PR and marketing tools and resources, visit the NAMI PR and Marketing Tool Kit.
Here, resources have been compiled to make your experience with media outlets as easy as possible. These resources are intended to walk you through the entire process from start to finish.
Reports on PSA Placement for the TV PSA are available at www.tvaccessreports.com/nami.
These reports will be updated on or near the 15th of each month beginning in late Fall 2012.
NAMI Affiliates are encouraged to contact the stations who have aired the TV PSA and thank them for their efforts. This is a great opportunity to introduce the station directly to the services your NAMI Affiliate offers the community.
Contact information for the stations are accessible from the access reports, and sample template letters are using the links above.
