NAMI Multicultural Leadership Conference

The NAMI Multicultural Action Center is happy to announce a Multicultural Leadership Conference taking place March 28-30, 2008,in St. Louis, Missouri.

Based on input from NAMI’s Multicultural Leaders Groups, we have identified three major focus areas for this conference: policy and advocacy; cultural competence; and multicultural outreach planning and implementation. Most importantly, the conference will include a hands-on planning session where participants will develop and draft strategies to take back to their NAMI offices.

Who Should Apply

NAMI state and affiliate offices with demonstrated commitment to multicultural inclusion are invited to apply. Interested states and affiliates are asked to identify two individuals each to represent them as a small delegation at the event. There will be a competitive process used to select delegations   based on current capacity and/or commitment to diversity and inclusion. The Multicultural Action Center particularly encourages current members of the NAMI multicultural leaders groups to attend this conference. In addition, there will be a few slots for individual invitations.
