Women At Risk: Women And Mental Health Special television series airing across the country

"One in four Americans has a family member with mental illness." Women and Mental Health, the third show of the "Women at Risk" series, covers a variety of mental health issues facing American women, ranging from diagnosis to treatment to the stigma of mental illness. In a one-on-one interview, Tipper Gore, the wife of the Vice President and Advisor to the President on Mental Health, will discuss her efforts to destigmatize mental illness and provide better care to those suffering from mental illness.

The program takes an in-depth look at the most common mental illnesses afflicting women today and new medical breakthroughs in science, research, and medicine that have brought us new understanding of the brain and the connections between mental and physical health.

This coming Sunday, Nov 14, at 9pm EST and midnight EST, the Learning Channel will be airing a program on the plasticity of the brain.
