  Jeffrey Lieberman, MD, University of North Carolina Leading research psychiatrist on treatment of severe mental disorders Andy Imparato, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Former congressional staffer diagnosed with a brain disorder Lori Rivera, Public Affairs Executive in leading world-wide agency Former Reagan administration official diagnosed with a brain disorder 

This congressional seminar will focus on the latest research into severe mental illnesses and the challenges faced by people living with brain disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and major depression. Representative Myrick and NAMI, with numerous congressional co-sponsors, have assembled leading researchers and individuals living with brain disorders to educate members of Congress and their staffs about biomedical research into brain disorders and the need to ensure equal access to insurance, housing, and employment opportunities for people who suffer from these diseases.
