On Tuesday, September 25, the House and Senate will vote on legislation renewing the popular State Children’s Health Insurance (SCHIP) program, despite a threatened veto from President Bush. The House-Senate agreement includes $35 billion in additional funding for SCHIP and a new requirement for private sector SCHIP plans to cover mental illness treatment "on par" with all other medical disorders.
Advocates are strongly encouraged to contact their members of Congress to urge them to vote in favor of this SCHIP legislation and support:
