Pamela's Story

I was diagnosed with bipolar at aprox age 19. Having a mental illness was very embarressing but eventaully i havent had a drink of alchohol in aprox 23 years.I stopped drinking around age 23 and never will drink it again.I think drugs such as alchohol, caffeine and nicotine caused my mental illness.I dont think i would have ever stopped drinking alchohol if i wasnt labeled mentally ill.It made me feel abnormal being labeled bipolar so i did everything i could to do the best i could and i exercised daily becuase that was what helped me feel the most sane and i became a vegetarian also. What we eat can make us menatlly ill as well as drugs so i tried to eat as healthy as i could. My advice is if you have a mental illness avoid drugs and if you have to have them such a a cigarette do it very rarely so you dont hurt your brain.Drugs can cause our minds to be sick so if you must use them use them very mildly not in moderation which means if you need to smoke try 3 cigarettes a day and not 1 pack a day.It worked for me.God bless you all.I have been alchohol free for 23 years and no illegal drugs either.
