Valerie Hunter

National Consultant, Organizational Learning

Valerie HunterWith over 30 years of experience, Valerie synthesizes and applies the best of organizational development, facilitation, training and coaching practices in the organization, enabling NAMI to design and deliver learning experiences that improve performance and inspire informed action.

Prior to joining NAMI in 2007, Ms. Hunter was the Deputy Director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's National Program Office, Developing Leadership in Reducing Substance Abuse, and served as the Director of Training and Workforce Development for one of Oregon’s largest mental health and addictions treatment centers.

Valerie holds a B.S. degree in Occupational Therapy and is a registered occupational therapist. Valerie is also a licensed psychotherapist who received her M.A. degree in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling. She is a graduate of The Coaches Training Institute and has trained with the Society for Organizational Learning, the International Association of Facilitators, and the Center for Creative Leadership.
