What are the dates and location of the 2010 National Convention?
Wednesday, June 30 - Saturday, July 3, 2010 at the Hilton Washington in Washington, DC.
I am trying to plan my travel. What is the convention schedule?

What hotel is NAMI using in Washington, DC?
The Hilton Washington is the convention headquarters hotel. Rooms are $155/single and $165/double, plus tax, per night. Visit the Hotel Info page to make your reservations.
I want to register for the convention. How much does it cost and how can I do this?
The current registration rates are $235 for NAMI members and $135 for consumer members. You can register and see additional convention rates on the convention registration page.
Are there any scholarships available that will cover my registration fee?
The NAMI scholarship application is for a registration fee only. Applicants are responsible for their own travel, hotel and food expenses. All applicants must be a member of their local NAMI. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is on or before May 14, 2010.

Traveling to the NAMI Convention on a tight budget? Follow these tips to save some bucks!
Register early – Super Saver rates save you 20% off the last minute registration fees.
Book early for the cheaper airline tickets – Investigate discount booking sites such as www.sidestep.com and www.kayak.com. Also, check out NAMI’s special discount on United Airlines at www.nami.org/convention.
Pack lightly – If you can fit your gear in a carry-on suitcase you can avoid checking bags. You’ll save more than $50 round-trip on baggage check fees.
Take Metro to the Hotel – DC’s Metrorail offers inexpensive access from National Airport to the Washington Hilton. You’ll pay $4 for the round-trip to/from the airport instead of $30. (The closest Metro stop to the Hilton Hotel is located 3 blocks away.)
Consider an alternative hotel – Visit www.nami.org/convention to see what other hotels are available in the area. You can save as much as $100 on your total lodging costs.
Pick up snacks for breakfast – Every hotel room has a coffee pot. Heat up some water and make a bowl of instant oatmeal for a low cost breakfast. Check out the list of food stores and inexpensive carry-outs that we include on the “cheat sheet” in your registration packet. (You can save a lot on money of your food costs if you limit yourself to one restaurant meal a day.)
