The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the nation’s largest organization focused on serious mental illnesses, offers unpaid internships for summer and fall with its Policy and Legal Affairs team. Writing skills important. Background or interest in mental health issues or healthcare policy helpful. Send letter, resume and short writing sample to NAMI Policy Team Internships at jobs@nami.org.
2) Communications:
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the nation’s largest organization focused on serious mental illnesses, offers unpaid internships for summer and fall with its Communications team; working with media relations, publications and graphics, Website content and technical development and its National Information HelpLine. Writing skills important. Background or interest in mental health issues or healthcare policy helpful. Empathetic interpersonal skills important for HelpLine. 3) National Information HelpLine:
The NAMI National Information HelpLine offers ongoing unpaid internships for students of psychology, social work, psychiatric nursing. Interns serve as Information and Referral Specialists, assisting individuals and family members affected by serious mental illnesses. I&R Specialists provide emotional support, information about mental illnesses, treatments and recovery, and referral and resource information.
