NAMI Internships - Arlington VA

Job Description
1) Communications:

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the nation’s largest organization focused on serious mental illnesses, offers unpaid summer internships with its Communications team. Work with media relations, publications, graphics, website content development, social media. Strong writing, editing and research skills essential. Education in communications, public relations or related field preferred. Background or interest in mental health issues or health care policy helpful. 2) National Information HelpLine:

The NAMI National Information HelpLine offers ongoing unpaid internships for students of psychology, social work, psychiatric nursing. Interns serve as Information and Referral Specialists, assisting individuals and family members affected by serious mental illnesses. I&R Specialists provide emotional support, information about mental illnesses, treatments and recovery, and referral and resource information. Excellent, empathetic communication skills required; training provided. Send cover letter and resume to HelpLine Internships at Maggie@nami.org.
