Executive Director - Sacramento CA

Job Description
The Executive Director is responsible for consistent achievement of NAMI California's strategic plan and to uphold its mission. The Executive Director will have responsibility for all operational aspects of NAMI California including but not limited to; staffing, organizational development, financial performance, contracting, all business matters, and oversight of the development, execution, and expansion of NAMI Signature Programs. The Executive Director is expected to be accessible to NAMI California's member affiliates and to demonstrate leadership in those relationships. The Executive Director represents NAMI California in written communications and personal interactions on issues affecting our constituencies. The Executive Director will ensure NAMI California's voice is heard in the legislature and/or media on issues affecting people living with mental illness and their families.

The Executive Director will report to the Board of Directors (the Board).

Requirements:

Education - Bachelors degree minimum;

Residence/Location - Within daily commuting distance of Sacramento;

Experience:
Minimum 5 years management of a cross-functional team (multiple departments);
Budget Management of at least $500,000;
Business/program development activities to include revenue generation;
501(c)3 management beneficial;
Knowledge of issues related to mental illness;
Knowledge of the California mental health system, Mental Health Services Act, etc. beneficial;
Knowledge and experience with mental health/mental illness issues (advocacy, programs, etc.) specific to urban, desert/rural, and suburban areas as well as ethnic and cultural diversity;
Knowledge of internet technologies to enhance organizational efficiencies beneficial;
Working with/for non-profit board of directors beneficial.
