Celebrate and Bring Awareness to Your Community

The US House of Representatives proclaimed July as Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month in 2008, aiming to improve access to mental health treatment and services for multicultural communities through increased public awareness. Since then, individuals and organizations around the country have joined NAMI in celebrating the Month and increasing awareness. Join us!

Twitter Chat -- Wednesday, July 9, 2014 11:00 am - 12 pm ET

This year’s Twitter chat will be moderated by Melody Moezzi, and she will be discussing her latest book, Haldol & Hyacinths: A Bipolar Life. Melody is an Iranian-American Muslim writer, activist, attorney and award-winning author. To join the Twitter chat, follow these instructions:

  • Set up an account at, if you do not already have an account.
  • Log into your twitter account on July 9 at 11:00 am ET.
  • Access in your browser
  • Enter mhsm for the hashtag.
  • Log in and authorize the app with your Twitter account when asked to do so.
  • Remember your tweets have to be under 135 characters including spaces (the other 5 spaces are reserved for #mhsm which will be added automatically for you if you use
  • You can also use the hashtag #MinorityMentalHealth.
