At the close of another successful year, the NAMI Multicultural Action Center wishes to acknowledge and thank our colleagues and partners for your continued support. We look forward to your being a part of our 2008 efforts in ensuring the progress of NAMI to support the mental health needs of all Americans and furthering multicultural mental health access and quality.
2007 Efforts Driven by the Multicultural Action Plan
In the last two years, NAMI was proud to host two multicultural taskforce meetings to address mental health in communities of color. During these meetings, individuals representing over 25 partner organizations and agencies identified key advocacy priority areas: consumer and family-driven care; quality of care and access; public information (education); and workforce development (click here for a description of each of these priority areas).
The NAMI Multicultural Action Center has been working hard to advance these areas in the last year. Below are highlights of 2007 activities in this effort:
