2009 NAMI TV and Radio "Puzzle Pieces" PSA
About the NAMI TV and Radio PSAs
Mental illness is a serious medical condition that often disrupts a person’s thinking, feeling, ability to relate to others, and daily functioning. Mental illness affects an estimated one in five American families and can have a profound affect on the individual, their loved ones, and the community.
Mental illnesses are treatable. Most people diagnosed with a mental illness can experience relief from their symptoms by actively participating in an individual treatment plan. In addition, peer support and education are key components to helping individuals and families navigate from confusion and hurt to hope and recovery.
The 2009 NAMI “Puzzle Pieces” PSA has been created to grab the attention of viewers and let them know that they are not alone. Through support, education, and advocacy, NAMI helps people put the pieces of their lives back into place.
