Joseph Mucenski Joseph P. Mucenski

Mucenski is a retired New York City police detective who lost a mentally ill son to “suicide by cop.” He is also a retired instructor and department chair in Machine Tool Technology at Pima College in Tucson.

He is a founding member and chair of the state’s Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) Network and of the CIT committee of the Arizona Council on Offender with Mental Impairments (ACOMI). He serves on the Pima County forensic and jail diversion task forces.

He is the recipient of numerous awards for community service, including ones from the U.S. Department of Justice and the Governor of Arizona.
