2007-2013

Clarence Jordan Clarence Jordan, M.B.A, Secretary

Clarence Jordan is the director of recovery and resiliency services of Tennessee at ValueOptions Behavioral Health Services, the second-largest behavioral health company in the nation. In this capacity, Mr. Jordan is a member of the senior leadership team of clinical, provider relations and medical services that serves members of TennCare, the Medicaid population of Tennessee. He is involved in planning at the highest levels of the organization on matters of current trends as well as treatment practices for both mental illness and substance abuse. Prior to his current role, Mr. Jordan served as manager of recovery and resiliency for Magellan Health Services of Tennessee DBA AdvoCare, where his responsibilities included training and support of AdvoCare employees in Nashville and working with the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities to promote and sustain recovery and resiliency service delivery for TennCare members across the State.

Mr. Jordan has deep roots at NAMI, where he currently sits on the Board of Directors. He previously served as operations officer and director of the multicultural outreach initiative at NAMI Tennessee, which saw the largest increase in African American membership in the organization’s history in 2006. He also developed and wrote The Guide to Mental Illness, What Every Family Needs to Know which earned the state affiliate the National Multicultural Outreach Award. Mr. Jordan is a former Navy commander; a chronicle of his Navy experience was featured in the June 2007 edition of Heart and Soul Magazine. He recently conducted a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., sponsored by NAMI, on the experience of military families.
