Help Expand Access to Affordable Housing

NAMI is currently supporting two major initiatives in Congress; the Frank Melville Supportive Housing Investment Act of 2009 and the National Affordable Housing Trust Fund. They are designed to expand supportive housing targeted to extremely low income people with severe disabilities, including serious mental illness.

Tell Your Member of Congress We Need Parity Regulations!

After years of hard work by addiction and mental health treatment advocates, consumers, and providers, Congress passed the Paul Wellstone and Pete Domenici Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008 on October 3, 2008. The bill requires the Departments of Labor (DOL), Health and Human Services (HHS) and Treasury to issue regulations before the effective date for the Act which is January 1, 2010.
