NAMI NW Walk 2008

The 2008 walk was held May 18, 2008.  Providence Health System was once again the Presenting Sponsor.  Thanks Providence!  Over 100 teams turned out on the gorgeous May day to support NAMI's programs and mission.  The walk route had to be modified at the last minute in order to accomodate the Barrack Obama visit that was held at the same time on the other side of the river, but the modification made little difference to the 1,130 walkers that finished the route.  The largest team for NAMI Multnomah was the Adventist Hospital team which had 57 walkers.  The top fundraisers for the walk at large were Susan Matthies, Pamela Dunham, Chari Smith, Molly Gorger, and Joy Lynn Nesbit.

Over $85,000 has been raised through the online donation system so far, with an additional $49,000 raised in sponsorship.  Online donations for any and all teams are still being accepted through July 18, so get those last minute donations in before the cutoff.   Walk headquarters can also accept checks at the NAMI Oregon office at 3550 SE Woodward Street, Portland, OR, 97202.  Please include a note to let them know which team you walked with so they can give your affiliate proper credit.

More info about the 2008 walk will be available throughout the summer.  Keep an eye out on this website for updates.  Thanks to everyone who helped make NAMI Walk 2008 a great success.
