Welcome to NAMI West Houston
NAMI West Houston provides support, education and advocacy for families and individuals facing mental illness in the West Houston area. NAMI West Houston is a grassroots, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of those struggling with mental illness. We have been active in Harris County since 1989. NAMI West Houston is 100% volunteer.
With the support of our members and volunteers, NAMI West Houston holds monthly meetings, support groups and educational classes to help the public better understand how to cope with mental illness and begin the process of recovery.
Monthly Programs
NAMI West Houston holds monthly programs on the third Monday of every month. We meet at 7:15 p.m. with social time and refreshments. The program begins at 7:30 p.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m. If there are particular speakers or topics you are interested in, please let us know: 713-984-2538.

On May 2, 2009, the Houston area will have its fourth annual NAMIWalks at beautiful Sam Houston Park. Our team is the NAMI West Houston BrainWaves. We would love for you to join us! Or to donate to show your support. Just go to www.nami.org/namiwalks08/HOU/brainwaves to join the team. Registration is free. You can ask people to sponsor you for any amount. Ten sponsors at $10 apiece will raise $100! Since we are 100% volunteer, all funds received by NAMI West Houston go to support our classes, groups and programs. The walk also raises awareness of mental health issues in Houston. Please join us! Questions? contact Bonnie, 713-984-2538, bccord@swbell.net.
