"Our religious communities are in the dark when it comes to understanding mental illness as a treatable illness," said Rev. Gregg-Schroeder. "For two years, I hid my condition from my faith community from the very real fear that I would lose my job." Rev. Gregg-Schroeder went on to describe what she calls "the gifts of the shadow," and the ways that her mental illness enabled her to discover opportunities for growth, change, and transformation.
