Team Captains and Walkers will not have the ability to sign up and raise funds until that time.
We are also excited to announce that we were able to secure a date, time, and location for NAMIWalks Chicago 2012 already:
Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 5:00 pm in Grant Park
The Changes:
1. The Start/Finish site of the event has been moved back to it's orginal location in Upper Hutchinson Field. This field is located at the southwest corner of Columbus & Balbo. The approximate address is:
750 S Columbus Dr
Chicago, IL 60605
2. This year's Walk will take place on a SATURDAY, instead of a Sunday. The city will not issue permits for Sunday events in Grant Park until they are sure there are no events at Soldier Field. The Bear's schedule is not released until April...
3. For the first time in NAMIWalks Chicago history, our event will take place late in the day! The event will begin at 5:00 pm, and we will step-off at 6:00 pm. Walkers will enjoy the view of the sun setting over the skyline as they return from their lakefront stroll.

NAMIWalks Chicago 2012 is Chicago's Community Mental Health Walk. Our goal is to engage the general public in an effort Spread Mental Health Awareness, Eliminate Stigma of Mental Illness, and Raise Funds for this important cause.
Becoming a Walk Team Captain is a great way to support the event! Walk Team Captains dedicate themselves to Recruiting Teammates (at least 10!), Helping them Register and Keeping them Motivated, and Raising Funds (primarily online).
In 2011, we had approximately 1,000 particpants come out in support of mental health, and they raised nearly $100,000. We'd love to improve these numbers and match the levels of other NAMIWalks taking place all over the country. We can do so much more here, but we can only do this with YOUR help and collaborative efforts of the business community and mental health services community. Please get the word out today.
