Thank you for supporting the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Vermont in its flagship awareness and fundraising event, the 2009 Vermont NAMIWalk For the Mind of America walkathon. NAMI-Vermont works to advocate, support, and educate people with mental illness and their families. Our programs and classes are offered to the community at no cost to participants. Your involvement is a great way to help us celebrate our 25th Anniversary this year.

Vermont's NAMIWalk event was held on May 16, 2009 on the lawn of the Vermont State House in Montpelier. We had over 200 people come out and join us on Walk Day raising both money and awareness regarding the need for America to build a world-class treatment and recovery system for people living with mental illness.

Thank you for your support, YOU made this another amazing NAMIWalk!

“It feels almost spiritual to arrive at the State House early on Walk Day. The multicolored tulips line the walkway up to the State House steps. The day was pristine with clear blue skies, the sun gleaming, and the apple trees in full bloom, it was gorgeous. The tents went up and music started to fill the air, as people arrived. Dogs and children ran around as Frisbees flew and balloons were handed out. It was a festive and happy time, as friends greeted each other and laughed. It was fun, with no pretense. We all knew why we were there. Last year’s NAMIWalk was a great success.”
