A message from the Corporate Captain:
Welcome to CSUN's NAMI Walk page. All the latest news about our CSUN's participation will be included here. Use the links below to create a new team, join an existing team, or make a donation to an existing team.
If you have questions, e-mail your team captain or the super-team captain (Merril at: merril.simon@csun.edu)
For those wanting to take a free chartered bus from CSUN to the walk, submit the waiver form (click here) to your U-100 instructor, RA, or scan and e-mail it to Merril.Simon@csun.edu. There is room for up to 50 on the bus on a first come, first served basis. Students turning in their forms IN ADVANCE will receive priority. [Arrive by 7:45 a.m. at Lot G-4 (near the CSUN Fitness Centre), please. Bus will leave CSUN at 8:00 a.m. and return about 1 p.m. Bus graciously donated by LA Councilman Greig Smith's office.]
Raise $$ for this important cause: Ask yourself: "What would I be willing to give up for a day?" Perhaps its a venti frap from Starbucks or passing up a lunch at MacD or In-and-Out? Just $5-10 can make a difference!
Then ask five or more of your friends the same question. Ask them to contribute as much as you do (or more). People truly want to help; they just need to know that it matters to you that they do.
All attendees can also receive verification of participation in the Walk if attending for class credit.
All who raise $10 or more will get a certificate of participation; if you raise more than $25, you can get a NAMI SFV t-shirt and for over $100 raised, you can get a NAMI National t-shirt!!
Wear good walking shoes (as well, a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and water are good to bring from home.
Wear a CSUN t-shirt to show your Matador pride, too!) for this 5K (though you may walk as little or much as you wish--there is no race).
We'll have some snacks (but no coffee/tea, so bring your own if desired!) as we're waiting to leave.
Check the predicted weather forecast for that day--it is sometimes quite cool in the mornings in Santa Monica.
If you are not taking the bus, check in at the red TEAM CSUN sign between 9:15-9:30 a.m. in front of Anthropologie (3rd St. and Santa Monica Blvd.) to get your verification of attendance. Parking in city lots is free for 2 hours, then $1 each subsequent 30 min. Carpool if you can. Bring your friends! All are welcome.
Join Team CSUN now!! Raise $$ if you can. Walk with us next Saturday, Oct. 3rd!!!!
