Why Am I Doing This?

My brother Brent Slowik had a mental illness called Paranoid Schizophrenia - "one of several types of schizophrenia, a chronic mental illness in which reality is interpreted abnormally. The classic features of paranoid schizophrenia are having beliefs that have no basis in reality and hearing things that aren't real."

Unfortunately in my brother's case this disease took his life by suicide.

How Can You Help?

By raising money for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) and attending the 5k walk on May 22nd, 2011 you have the opportunity to join NAMI's "Campaign for the Mind of America" and walk together to raise money and awareness about our country's need for a world-class treatment and recovery system for people with mental illness just like Brent.

This will be the 5th year we have walked for Brent, we always have a great turnout and are adding new members each year, look forward to seeing you there this year!!
