Team Page: Stigma Slayers

STIGMA

a. archaic: a scar left by a hot iron : brand

b. a mark of shame or discredit : stain

c. an identifying mark or characteristic; specifically : a specific diagnostic sign of a disease

The goal of NAMI and our NAMIWalks team Stigma Slayers is to ELIMINATE the stigma associated with mental illness. How do we do this? Through education: NAMI works hard to help educate the community at large and the individuals and families affected by mental illness. Through acceptance: We acknowledge the impact of mental illness but we refuse to let it define the individual. Through advocacy: We work to remove obstacles to mental health within the community.

Please join our team and help us help NAMI end the stigma forever!
