Welcome to my personal web page for NAMIWalks for the Mind of America!
As some of you know, I have been interning as a Research Assistant at the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Maryland in Baltimore since last July. Through this internship, I have been fortunate to learn about the experiences of people with mental illness and how the illness affects their families and friends. In addition, I have volunteered at the Montgomery County NAMI affiliate by helping to promote one of their Spanish-language programs in the hopes that more people of Latino/Hispanic descent will seek out the support services they need in order to better care for themselves and their loved ones. Because of the internship and volunteer work NAMI has become very important to me.
