NAMI is teaming up with health organizations to urge the Oct. 9 presidential debate moderators—CNN’s Anderson Cooper and ABC’s Martha Raddatz—to ask a question about mental health. Read and share our letter to help us accomplish this goal.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), in partnership with The Jed Foundation (JED), today released “Starting the Conversation: College and Your Mental Health,” a guide to help students and parents talk about mental health.

The Beacon Bike Ride is a 2,000 mile ride from Boston to Miami that aims to raise awareness and reduce mental health stigma.

NAMI is excited to announce the launch of our newest report, “Engagement: A New Standard for Mental Health Care.” As an organization of individuals with mental health conditions and their families, NAMI knows that the U.S. system of mental health care is failing to engage many people who seek help.

On July 7, NAMI launched Stigmafree Company, a new initiative that will challenge, highlight and cultivate a company culture of caring and enhanced engagement around mental health. An initial group of seven companies have joined as partners including Coty, EY, FOX Sports, Kenneth Cole Productions, Participant Media, Philosophy, and Wear Your Label.

The House passed H.R.2646, the "Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act," sponsored by Reps. Tim Murphy (R-Pa.) and Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX) on a voice vote, without objection.

National organizations call on Speaker Paul Ryan and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to support H.R. 2646, the Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act of 2015, when it is taken up on the House floor for a vote.

Call your member of Congress and urge him or her to vote yes and take a strong step toward better mental health care.
