Angela Kimball

National Director, Advocacy & Public Policy


Angela Kimball is responsible for overall leadership of NAMI’s mental health policy and advocacy initiatives. Ms. Kimball brings expertise in grassroots advocacy campaigns and policy, as well as a drive to build a movement that fights inequities and champions solutions for people living with mental health conditions and families.

Previously, Ms. Kimball provided strategic support to Oregon’s transformative, community-governed integration of Medicaid health, mental health, substance use and dental services as an Innovator Agent with the Oregon Health Authority. In addition to her experience with quality-driven Medicaid managed care, Ms. Kimball co-developed the NAMI Smarts advocacy skill-building program and led effective advocacy campaigns during her tenure as NAMI’s director of state advocacy. In prior years, Ms. Kimball received several awards for her legislative work, including children’s mental health reform and passage of Oregon’s mental health parity law.
