Jim Hayes, M.D.

Jim Hayes is a member on the NAMI Board of Directors. Jim was previously the Director for Research Compliance with Greenville Health System.

Jim and his family came to NAMI desperate for understanding bipolar disorder, and considers NAMI a life saver for him, his wife and their three children living with bipolar disorder.

Jim and his wife have been NAMI Family-to-Family teachers (facilitating 12 classes), as well as Parents and Teachers as Allies teachers, Jim has also served as President of the NAMI South Carolina Board of Directors president for NAMI SC.

Jim is the founder of Taylors Free Medical Clinic and director of mental illness ministry at Taylors First Baptist church. He was recognized as Community Service Physician of the Year by the South Carolina Medical Society.

Jim earned his B.S. from Clemson University and M.D. from Medical University of South Carolina.

He is a member of NAMI Greenville.

For the 2016-2017 NAMI Board term, Jim will serve as the Chair of the Development Committee, and as a member of the Audit, Educations and Support Programs and Policy Committees.
