Shirley J. Holloway, Ph.D
Shirley Holloway is a Board Member on the NAMI Board of Directors, and an Education Consultant at Leadership for Excellence in Anchorage, Alaska. Dr. Holloway was previously the Commissioner of Education and Early Development for the State of Alaska.
Dr. Holloway found NAMI after the loss of her daughter to mental illness. She hopes to improve access and quality of mental health services to underserved populations through her affiliation with NAMI.
Shirley’s area of expertise is developing and improving relationships, processes, and policies for both governing boards and their executive leadership. She is a board member of Blood Bank of Alaska, a Regent of Charter College, a board member of The CIRI Foundation, and Vice President of the NAMI Alaska Board.
Dr. Holloway earned her Ph.D. at Gonzaga University. She is a member of NAMI Anchorage.
For the 2016-2017 NAMI Board term, Shirley will serve as the Chair of the Personnel Committee, and as a member of the Dispute Resolution, Education and Support Programs and Governance Committees.
