Manager, Governance and Membership
Bob Scott joined NAMI as part of Governance and Operations in 2012 as that team was wrapping up the NAMI State Organization chartering phase of NAMI’s Standards. His main role at that time was building and managing the NAMI Profile Center where state and affiliate organizations could provide critical operational documentation as part of their Standards of Excellence requirements.
In his current role, he works closely with the Board of Directors and the NAMI Elections process. He also strives to connect membership to the larger governance function in the organization.
What piece of your work at NAMI are you most proud of?
For the past four years, I have worked very closely with the Board and gotten to know some of them very well. I am in awe of the time, energy, talent and knowledge they bring to these volunteer positions. I am proud to support them in their endeavors on behalf of the national organization, and I am very pleased that they seem to enjoy working with me.
What’s something about you that would surprise others?
I have been working with local community theaters for the past 27 years, and have produced, directed, designed and acted in more than 100 productions in that time. My shows have also been recognized with awards for production, design, acting and, yes, even my direction!
