Senior Manager, Field Resource Development
Kris Eschman has many years of experience in nonprofit development and event fundraising. She was working as a mental health case manager when she first learned about NAMI through a mental health first aid class. She was then excited to join the national NAMIWalks team in 2015, combining an interest in event fundraising with a passion for helping those affected by mental illness. She enjoys working with NAMIWalks, helping them raise awareness about mental health and raise money to enact NAMI’s mission. Kris has an MBA and MSW from the University of Houston.
What piece of your work at NAMI are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the growth of the national NAMIWalks program. We have raised over $120 million in unrestricted funds for NAMI organizations and this number grows every day!
What’s something about you that would surprise others?
I love winter! I like to snowshoe and ski (downhill and cross-country). I also love to run in the snow. When others complain about incoming blizzards, I am excited about what that means for the slopes and trails. Let it snow!
