Marketing and Communications
Christine Allen thought her mental health journey was unique until she came to NAMI and found, thankfully, that she was not alone. She loves to read and be inspired by the journeys and stories from the mental health community and she is proud to be in a position where she can bring national attention to those stories. At NAMI, she edits and manages several publications, including the NAMI Blog, Advocate and You Are Not Alone.
Before joining NAMI, Christine was the assistant editor to one of the country’s top ghostwriters. She edited, researched and managed 40+ high-profile books, including a parenting book by a top child development expert, a memoir of a legendary entrepreneur and a big-think book by a renowned psychologist. Christine has B.A. in writing, literature, and publishing from Emerson College.
What piece of your work at NAMI are you most proud of?
Advocate. Pulling together that magazine is such time-consuming, labor-intensive, stressful work and the *day* I finish one issue I have to start the next, but there’s nothing like holding the finished product.
What’s something about you that would surprise others?
I firmly believe I was a whale in a past life.
