Dania Douglas works on a wide array of policy issues including access to mental health care, mental health parity, Medicaid and discrimination issues. She is an attorney who graduated from American University, Washington College of Law.
Prior to NAMI, she was a staff attorney at the American Diabetes Association and a Legal Fellow at the National Association of the Deaf. Dania holds a B.A. in government from The College of William and Mary.
What piece of your work at NAMI are you most proud of?
I am very proud of the work NAMI has done on Medicaid, mental health parity, and supported employment.
What’s something about you that would surprise others?
I threw shotput and discus on the track teams at Wake Forest and William & Mary. I also coached track at Gallaudet University for eight years.
